This is my recently favorite poem – from one of my favorite authors. The original version is in Chinese, a simple, but eloquent, poem. I translated it and tried to make it good. Well maybe not a perfect English version, and please forgive it lacks polish and talent. I just want to share my thoughts and feelings with u guys.
Sometimes I maybe a little upset with my situations, friends left, families far away, fighting hard to stay in this country, feeling lonely, and no people to talk to when I have a hard time, I wonder if there is anyone even only one or two, really care about me. But everytime, I read this poem, it calms me down. All those trivialities bother me, all the bad moods, all my disappointments and all my worries. Little by little, they pass away.
I believe, this too shall pass.
One day
Everything will be okay
When Thinking about it
I feel relieved and free
Those exhuasted loves
And the deadliest hatreds,
One day
they will be ebbing away
Insomnias
To be wronged
Bad traffic
Too poor
They won’t last
To be despised
To be forced to lie
Feeling helpless
Or not confident with your looking
This too shall pass.
It’s amazing
How can Life be so merciful,
While also be so cold?
No, you don’t have to answer me yet
Whether it’s because of guilty
or out of compassion,
you don’t have to answer it now
Since you try to care
Again and again,
you try to secure
One day
All my trivial doubts,
shall be gone
